A payment reminder by phone that keeps the customer
A payment reminder by phone gets answered in a way an email often doesn’t. Speaks rings your own customers about overdue invoices, stays polite, finds out when they’ll pay and lets you know.
Coming soon. This is what Speaks is being built to do, and not all of it works yet.
| Invoice | Customer | Owed | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2291 | Pieter D. | R4,800 | Paying Friday |
| 2304 | Greenway Cafe | R12,350 | Paid today |
| 2317 | Sam R. | R2,150 | Disputed: for you |
| 2322 | Moloi Tiling | R7,900 | Paying on the 30th |
You say
“Ring everyone more than 14 days overdue. Be friendly and ask when we can expect it.”
It does
It says who it’s calling for, mentions the invoice, asks when payment is coming and can resend the invoice.
You get
A list of who promised what and when, and who needs a word from you.
What it handles
- Friendly first reminders
- Payment dates, noted against each invoice
- Sending the invoice again
- Flagging disputes for you
Where it stops
It reminds, it doesn’t collect. It won’t threaten anyone, pretend to be an attorney or argue about a dispute. Those go to you.
Questions
Is this debt collection?
No. These are reminders from you to your own customers. Debt collecting is a different job, and it doesn’t do it.
Can it take payment on the call?
Not at first. It can send the invoice again.
What if they dispute the invoice?
It notes what they said and passes it to you.
