Acceptable use: what Speaks will and won’t call for
This acceptable use page sets out what Speaks is for and what it isn’t. Phone calls reach real people, so these rules protect them and protect you.
What it’s for
Answering your own calls. Calling people who asked to hear from you. Calling your own customers about their own bookings, accounts and services. Phoning businesses to ask for quotes, stock, bookings, or about your own account.
What it isn’t for
Cold sales calls or marketing to people who didn’t ask. Scams, threats or harassment. Pretending to be a person, a company or an official that it isn’t. Getting passwords, PINs or one-time codes. Collecting debts. Anything against the law.
How calls behave
It says who it’s calling for. It never claims to be human. It keeps to calling hours and limits. If someone says stop, it stops, and they go on the do-not-call list.
Advice
It doesn’t give medical, legal or financial advice. It takes the details and passes them to you.
If this is broken
We can suspend the account or stop the calls.
Questions
Why no cold sales calls?
South African law restricts direct marketing by automated calling without consent, and carriers restrict it too. So Speaks doesn’t offer it.
Can I upload a bought list?
No. Everyone on a list needs a reason to be called, and a bought list isn’t one.
